Missed last week's post because my daughter-in-law had to have
emergency surgery. She is doing great now - thanks for praying.
We follow the only God anyone has ever heard of that serves men who
simply wait on Him to act. This is certainly one of the distinguishing
characteristics of God as opposed to gods men have made up and
demons masquerading as gods. How do you get God's assistance? Wait
for God to act and while waiting trust that He will act.
Don't wait for Him to do a particular thing that you think is best, though.
For example if you are on the verge of bankruptcy you can take that
situation to God and wait for Him to take care of it. You can be absolutely
sure that He will take care of it. You cannot be absolutely sure that He is
going to take care of it by granting you to win the lottery (even if you
promise 25% to the church). You can't be sure He will take care of it by
getting all your debt paid off in any particular way or even at all. You can,
though, be sure He will take care of it.
You cannot know God's time frame for taking care of your problems. He
will often be later than you would have preferred. But He will take care
of them if you wait for Him to do so.
It is true that God wants to help you. He takes great joy in doing good for
all men. Even those who do not believe in Him or trust Him at all. He is
doing the best thing for them everyday by giving them opportunity to
come to Him with their burdens. Take your burdens to God today. Take
Him your burden of sin. Take Him all of your cares. Wait and see the
mighty hand of God.
