One thing about the world around us is clear – God reveals enough about Himself there that there
will be no excuse.  No one's excuse for their failure to reach out to Him, to be thankful to Him, or to
acknowledge Him will stand because everyone will have seen enough to become responsible for
those failures.  This makes the unbeliever's enjoyment of nature more than a little ironic.

The believer, though, has the opportunity to glory in God's handiwork by recognizing God's constant
communication everywhere and all the time.  This communication goes on day in and day out night
after night and has done so throughout history.  Prayer without ceasing would only be a response to
God's communication to man that never itself ceases.

I believe God at times even speaks to individuals in this same manner but more particularly.  Have
you never seen some natural display that no one else saw?  Perhaps driving home from a hard day
at work some particular arrangement of trees or even leaves caught your eye in such a way that you
wondered if it was arranged just for you and your weariness was lifted.  The way a flock of birds
aligned themselves in flight or a pattern of falling snow may have said something that you needed to
hear.   This may smack too much of the mystic for many, but I challenge you to listen for it today
anyway.  There is no doubt that God speaks plainly in His word to all men and to individual men as
well; I think He also speaks more plainly in other ways than we may have considered.
